Health Issue - Obesity

Obesity has become one of the major threats in today’s world. For example in 2006, 24 percent of adults (aged 16 or over) in England were classified as obese. This represents an overall increase from 15 percent in 1993. Nowadays, even children are suffering from obesity at their early age. There are several main causes of obesity; they are unbalanced diet, unhealthy food such as fast foods, and lack of exercise. Obesity can be because of eating too much food that contains more fats that the body actually need. Fats are deposited in various parts of the bodies, such as neck, arms, stomach and many more. This can cause a person to be affected in different ways. It can affect the physical structure of the person’s body, psychological effect, and being isolated from the society. For instance, one can be ashamed for being obese and it affect their mentality. Their physical structure can change and therefore the society tends to stand away from these people. These people are also prone to various kind of sickness. For example, women may suffer from breast cancer if there are too many fats in their bodies. In conclusion, obesity should be prevented by eating healthy foods and exercise regularly. Education and campaign can be done to educate people in preventing obesity and other health issues.
